The Race Around is delighted to announce a strategic partnership with established sports apparel manufacturers Uncommon Limited.
Uncommon will supply The Race Around with a range of products such as teamwear, official merchandise and racewear in the build-up to, and throughout, our showpiece round-the-world Class40 yacht race, which kicks off in September 2023.
Uncommon specialise in end-to-end sustainable clothing, from textile selection through to production and distribution of their products, all while implementing creative flair and style that sets them apart from competitors.
The Race Around is a global sporting event focused on becoming truly circular. We are developing innovative technologies to produce the world's most sustainable off-shore racing yacht whilst building out a carbon positive event focusing on a cradle-to-cradle narrative. Naturally, we sought an apparel partner that reflected our passion for these truly sustainable practices.
Having successfully supplied official teamwear to teams, organisations and brands across Formula 1, Formula E, MotoGP and various other sports, Uncommon now take their first steps into the world of sailing with The Race Around.
As two value-driven entities who care deeply about what they do, how they do it and who they work with, The Race Around and Uncommon are an ideal collaboration.
The Race Around Co-Founder and Managing Director, Sam Holliday, said: "I'm really pleased to be working with Uncommon Group as they help The Race Around produce all its teamwear, official merchandise and racewear ahead of our first event in 2023.
"Uncommon's passion and integrity struck me from the off, which, coupled with their commitment to an end-to-end sustainable manufacturing process, make them a great partner for us.
"They've got a long-standing history of producing top-class ranges across a number of sports, and in a world where we haven't had much human contact over the last 18 months, I'm really looking forward to working with them as a value-driven organisation."
Uncommon’s Founder and CEO, Paul Preuveneers, said: "We're proud to have partnered with The Race Around and to be producing the series' first ever range ahead of the maiden race around the globe in 2023.
"We have so much in common with The Race Around, from the pride we share in our work to the ground-breaking changes we want to make across our industries - all while developing fully circular products and events for people to participate in and enjoy.
"We look forward to the start of a great relationship as we build up to what will be an extraordinary round-the-world race in just over two years' time."
